David Oginski, P.Eng.

VP Engineering

David Oginski is a professional engineer with over 25 years of experience in the management and development of Canadian oil and gas properties.  In the late 1980’s he began working in large sour gas plants in the foothills of Alberta as a facility engineer and progressed into project evaluation and project management roles. In 1996 he moved towards the reservoir side of the industry, gaining expertise in production operations and exploitation (depletion planning).  In 2000 Mr. Oginski had his first lead exploration role as manager of a Deep Basin exploration team. Subsequent to this, his roles expanded to include corporate development and the evaluation of oil and gas properties. He has led multi-disciplined teams to develop large exploration programs, complete several successful acquisitions, and help grow and sell companies as a whole.

In the past, Mr. Oginski has held engineering rolls with Gulf Canada, Petro-Canada and Morrison. He moved on to senior engineering and executive management positions with Western Facilities, Velvet Exploration and El Paso/Velvet, Welton, Cumberland, and Petro-Reef/Alexander. He is experienced in resource plays, tight gas, conventional, heavy oil, and primary and secondary recovery.

Mr. Oginski received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (Cooperative Program) degree from the University of Alberta. He is a member of APEGA and the SPE.
